Milton & Fulston Utd - Ladies

Milton & Fulston Utd 0 - 2 Crockenhill (08-01-12)

Certainly not how we wanted to start the new year but hey only the second league game we have lost and its the first game where we haven't scored !!. We are still low on players through injury and suspensions but our performance was well below par and we all know it so the only way from here is up. It was the first time Crockenhill have beaten us in all our meetings so well done to them. It was a defencive error which allowed Crockenhill to score their first and in the second half we were pushing to equalise and got caught on the break with the speedy Crockenhill forwards it could have been worse but for some good saves from Bron our Keeper. Oppositions player of the match went to Lucy Rawlings with the managers going to Bronwyn Allen.

Milton & Fulston Utd 1 - 2 Ashford (18-12-11) (County Plate)

This game proves procession does not win games ! We controlled most of this match but it wasn't our day for scoring! All credit to Ashford who put up a fine and organised defencive display. We would like to wish them luck in the next round. On a good note Louise Lorton slotted into the right wing position like a duck to water she also added to her goal tally with a well finished penalty.

Milton & Fulston Utd 4 - 1 Castle Colts (11-12-11)

This week was back to our League fixtures we needed a good win to keep us top and that's what we got. It was nice to be playing at home and with the help of some local supporters their singing and chants got the girls really showing off their talents ( Talk about play to the crowd maybe i should book them every week ) . We finished the game worthy 4-1 winners with the goals coming 2 a piece from Louise Lorton and Lucy Rawlings. Oppositions player of the match went to Leanne Stevens with the managers going to Louise Lorton.

Parkwood 0 - 2 Milton & Fulston Utd (04-12-11) (League Cup)

This was always going to be our revenge match after our defeat to Parkwood last week. We went into this game knowing we had injuries to some players but the girls wore their heart on their sleeves and decided to play. It was a physical game which saw us take a 1-0 half time lead with a goal from Lucy Rawlings but unfortunately we picked up more injuries to our central defenders so i made the choice to try and hold on to what we had and shut up shop it meant a long 45 minutes. Luck was certainly on our side when the Parkwood Striker missed a sitter from only 3 yards out one of those shots that seems harder to miss than score !. Our brick wall of eleven players held fast Lol. Hannah Gauci went on to score our second when she broke away with only a minute of full time remaining. A well deserved win and just what the doctor ordered.

Parkwood Rangers 2 -1 Milton & Fulston Utd (27-11-11)

It was always going to happen we lost our winning ways to a team lower in the division. Sadly this was our poorest performance to date we were without a number of first team regulars including our keeper and other players playing out of position but thats no excuse we just was not at the races !! Parkwood wanted it more than us( I think we were too sober Lol ) Any way just a small blip. We have Parkwood again next week in the cup if we can get enough fit players im sure we can turn this result around. Come on Girls think positive. Oppositions player of the match once again goes to Leanne Stevens and the Managers to Kate Booth our stand in keeper she gave it her all.

Ashford 0 - 3 Milton & Fulston Utd (20-11-11)

It was another convincing win again with the bare eleven players. M&F started the game in a positive manner taking a early 2-0 lead through Mo Cordes. The game became abit dull when we took our foot off the pedal. The second half saw Ashford produce more of a fight going downhill and with the sun in their favour they created more chances but our back four stayed strong. Mo Cordes completed her hat trick with a well timed lob. A good solid performance all round. Oppositions player of match went to Leanne Stevens With the managers going to the whole team for their altogether team performance.

Aylesford 2 - 6 Milton & Fulston Utd (06-11-11)

Cant say we were looking forward to playing Aylesford on their home pitch its really small compared to ours and what we are used to. We adapted well and caught Aylesford napping to score early within the first couple of minutes. We were soon 3-0 up and looked to be cruising until that pitch got the better of us from a goal kick strait into our penalty box !. We went into half time with a 3-1 lead. Keeping up the pressure we completed a very comfortable 6-2 win. The goals coming from Louise Lorton, Leanne Stevens, Amie Wallace and a hat trick from Lucy Rawlings. Kim Hughes got a run out in our so called team mid !! she had a excellent game fully committed and strong performance. Well done. Oppositions player of the match went to Lucy Rawlings with the managers going to Kelly Calvert (don’t think i heard her scream once).

Milton & Fulston Utd 1 - 0 Dorking (30-10-11) (League Cup)

This was our first encounter with Dorking from the SECWFL Div 1 West. We started this cup tie positively and took the lead on nineteen minutes with Lucy using her pace she easily skipped past the Dorking defence to score. M&F always looked to increase their lead but despite some good breaks we could not find the goal to close the game. Sadly M&F were reduced to nine players Sian Taylor picking up a red card for two yellows and Grace Jackson a strait red. This allowed Dorking a life line to get back into the game they threw everything at us in the remaining ten minutes. Every M&F player still standing was determined to not let them pass!!! It was a gutsy team performance to be proud of. A welcome win and we now look forward to meeting Parkwood in the next round. Oppositions player of the match went to Lucy Rawlings with the managers going to Lauren Stratfull.

Longlane 4 - 7 Milton & Fulston Utd (23-10-11)

Played seven, Won seven, Scored seven! Couldn't ask for any more from the girls they have all been brilliant their work rate is improving with every game. We always have close encounters with Longlane, both teams are quite evenly matched and between us always produce a exiting match to watch (No change this time). M&F took the lead on 14 minutes through Amie Wallace but a lack of concentration in defence allowed Longlane to equalise strait from the restart. The game was end to end and before you could blink we were 4-1 up after only just 32 minutes. A rare mistake from our keeper Bronwyn messing around in the danger area gifted Longlane their second just before half time. Longlane came out strong for the second half scoring a quick goal to make it 4-3 and game on again ! We spent a long spell of time defending and this time Bronwyn came to our rescue with a flying finger tip save that was destine for the top corner this was the kick up the arse we needed and the best form of defence is to attack !!. Amie once again started our come back with a nice one two on the edge of the box complete with a sweet finish Lucy made it six and Sian Taylor completed our tally with her first of the season. Oppositions player of the match went to Mo Cordes with the managers award going to Amie Wallace

Milton & Fulston Utd 2 - 1 Malgo (16-10-11)

This was our first ever meeting with Malgo so we didn't know much about them. They were strong and well organised and in the first half closed us down quickly before we could find our stride. They took a deserved 1-0 lead. We reverted back to our 4-5-1 formation to steady the ship and looked more comfortable and threatening. Lucy scored on the stroke of half time ( always a good time to score ). Our second half performance saw us build in confidence and produce more chances but our winner came from a own goal ( We don't care how they go in they all count ). We certainly knew we were in a game it was a good challenge for us and we look forward to the return. We picked up a few more injuries in this game hopefully nothing to serious. Keep icing girls!! Oppositions player of the match went to Leanne Stevens with the managers Jointly to Lindsey Clark and Lauren Stratfull for their tireless defencive work.

Old Canterbury 1 - 4 Milton & Fulston Utd (09-10-11)

Another good win but a game of too many stops through injuries so we couldn't get our flowing football going. Again Lucy and Mo continued to add to their goal tallies with two goals a piece. Sadly we lost Louise Lorton through injury and a trip to the hospital as put her out for action for a few months. Hey girls what happened to five goals? Oppositions player of match went to Lucy Rawlings with Sian Taylor getting the managers award.

Milton & Fulston Utd 5 - 1 Aylesford (02-10-11)

The first half wasn't much to get enthusiastic about with most players performing well below standards. At the Half way mark the score remained goal less. I would like to think it was our half time team talk that changed things !! but we couldn't of played any worse.

It only took us three minutes to get the ball rolling you can always relie on Leanne to put her head on a good cross. Lucy netted her first on 53 minutes making it 2-0 this seemed to take the sting out of Aylesford and the rest of the match seemed comfortable after that. Lucy completed another hat trick that's three in only four games with the best goal coming from Hannah Gauci, a solo run down the left finished with a unstoppable shot top right corner. Four wins from four and all with five goals who would believe that! Keep it up girls. Oppositions award went to Sophie Dickie with the managers going to Hannah Gauci.

Anchorians 2nds  1 - 5  Milton & Fulston Utd (25-09-11)

This was always going to be a battling local derby, our fast flowing wingers caused Anchorians problems all afternoon. Mo opened the score sheet on 25 minutes followed by a rare goal from Lauren. We went in 3 -1 at half time feeling very confident and this showed in the second half and was pretty much one way traffic. Mo completed her hatrick with the other goal coming from Louise, but Milton & Fulston could have had plenty more including a missed penalty - i wont name and shame but Leanne Stevens missed it well!!  Oppositions player of the match went to Lauren Stratfull and Managers went to Louise Lorton.

Milton & Fulston Utd 5 - 0 Prince of Wales (11-09-11)

Sadly I cant report this match because I was elsewhere so I left all the girls in charge and by the looks of it they didn't do a bad job!! Another 5 goals to add to the tally!! Well done girls!! Oppositions player of the match went to Grace Jackson with Lucy Rawlings getting the managers award.

Milton & Fulston Utd 5 - 2 Parkwood Rangers (04-09-11)

We entered the first game of the season against newly promoted Parkwood with only eleven players from our squad of sixteen while the others were sunning it up on some beach!!. We did not know what to expect from Parkwood they put in a well organised first half performance making us work hard to lead half time 3-2 with our first goal coming from Mo Cordes and with our consistent pressure forcing a own goal that left Lucy to tie up the first half with her first of the match . We dominated the second half with chances going begging but Lucy was able to complete her hat-trick. Opposition player of the match went to Leanne Stevens with the managers going to Lindsey Clark
